The channels on the Cable TV (*)


From april 2010, Spain is stopping relaying in analog all television broadcasts. In the area it is even stopping a bit sooner depending on comunidades. All channels from TVT (cable company) are also delivered only in digital form. (based on TDT) As of december 2009, the cable company has 80+ channels digitally available with a very good image and sound quality. Most channels are of course spanish-speaking. A few foreign channels are also available in english (BBC1, BBC2, etc), in french (France 2, France 3, etc) ... As of december 2009, a satellite dish has been installed to deliver TV channels to the living room and to the large sleeping room. The dish is collecting signal from 2 satellites: Hotbird (13W) and Astra 1. (19.2W) The dish gives access to tens of channels from Germany, Italy and other countries in the rest of the World. The satellite receiver and the television set itself in the living room are high definition. (HD) The equipment in the large sleeping room are regular. (SD) Giving the number of channels now offered, no parental control is configured on the systems but a few channels would definitely deserve one even over the day. PIN codes allowing to configure equipments are not made available to tenants. Hundreds of radio channels from countries all over the World are also available via TVT and the satellite installation.
